Lobby Lounge, Inter-Continental Hotel, Singapore

interconlobbylounge.jpg

Had high-tea with family at the Lobby Lounge of the Inter-Continental Hotel, Singapore yesterday. I like this place for the plush sofa and chairs. The food is only average in quality and spread. I am surprised that little attention was paid to details in a hotel of this class. The labellings on the food items were wrong, and some were even missing. For example, an item that was claimed to be a vegetarian pie turned out to be a chicken and mushroom pie! After alterting to the captain to the situation, the errors were then fixed and the service turned more courteous.

Shimizu Japanese Restaurant, Singapore

Had lunch with XQ at Shimizu Japanese Restaurant (Transview Golf & Country Club, 23 Folkstone Road, Singapore) last Friday. This place was previously known for introducing Japanese paper pot into Singapore, but I find their paper pot only average-tasting. The sashimi lunch set is particularly value-for-money at S$16. The restaurant is spacious and overlooks the Transview Golf Course.
