Equinox The Restaurant, Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore

Celebrated XQ's birthday over dinner at Equinox The Restaurant (Swissôtel The Stamford, 2 Stamford Road, Singapore 178882) two days ago. There was some mismanagement of our reservation. I was told over the phone that I would have a table by the window at 8:30pm. But when we reached the restaurant, we were told that the restaurant cannot guarantee a window table by 8:30pm. I was mad of course, but fortunatley we did get one at the end.

The menu is more limited than I expected. We started with some cocktails. For dinner, XQ had a pumpkin puree soup and a yuzu marinated cod, while I had a grilled rib eye. The food is generally quite good, but the view stole the show. The night view of Singapore from the top of Swissotel was simply spectacular.

A surprise came at the end of our dinner when the waiter brought a complimentary birthday cake and took a polaroid picture of us.

The price per person is about S$100.
